When is the best time to hire a contractor?
Q. Friends have told me that the off season is the best time to hire contractors. Is that true?
A. For Pacific Exteriors NW there is no real slow or “down” time.
Summer is great for the long daylight hours and the temperate climate for working. Most contractors are booked well before the summer season hits our area. This does cause long waits for projects during the dry months in the Portland and Vancouver areas.
However during the nine months of wetter weather is when homeowners find out if their windows are leaking. That when roof leaks will show up as well as door leaks. It is during the worst weather that siding has problems.
It is not always wise to wait for good weather to have repairs done to your home. Often times waiting can allow for the rot to get worse and the repairs become more extensive.
